Love is in the air and those who are in love for them every day is a Valentine’s Day. But in our India, 14th Feb is marked as Valentine’s Day. I was at hotel parcel counter waiting for my food to be ready. As I seated their I saw a young couple, red roses, gift wrapped box, a valentine wishing card and few chocolates placed on the table. They seemed to be on a date for Valentine’s Day. As it was 14th Feb.
The hotel was fully occupied with the diner’s and few of them were waiting outside in the queue for their turn also the parcel counter was occupied by most of the customers waiting for their food orders and so I was too waiting for my parcel. Order delivering took little more time than usual. Bored but still have to wait for my parcel over 25-30 mins. Within this time I observed that couple. I know its wrong to stock someone. But what I observed was not too good at that moment.
Irrespective of being on a date, the couple spent most of the time on their mobile phone. Clicking selfie, chatting with someone or being on call. But they were all busy with their phone. They were only spending time, not with each other but with the mobile phone.
To all of them who spend maximum time on their phone rather than spending time with your family, friends or your loved one. Guys, the technology is not made to ruin your personal life. It’s been developed for growth and betterment for us, not to spoil your own life. But we people have adopted technology in the way that it is destroying our personal life. As per the scene now-a-days it seems that technology is taking over humans love, emotions and feelings. Soon we will become robots with the body and organs of humans. Stop spending your time on the phone and live the present moment. Whether it’s with your family, friends or your loved one, try to create memories rather than focusing on creating photo albums that are been used to update status on social media. Because someday the photos might be deleted, but the memories clicked in your heart and mind will last with you forever.
Finally, my parcel arrived at the desk. After paying the bill I turned out and started to walk towards my home. On the way, I saw another couple at small Ice Cream shop. I think they were also celebrating Valentine’s Day because the lady had a rose in her hand. Dressed in simple clothes, simple slippers in feet, no makeup, no branded phones, the couple didn’t look rich. But the reality is they were very rich. May not be in terms of money, but they were rich in terms of feelings, emotions, love and a million dollar smile on their face. They were sitting together on the table spending time with each other, feeding Ice Cream to each other. That’s called love and that’s called “A Date”. The best way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your loved one.
Now when it comes to the date, I am still awaiting that “Perfect Date” for me. Hope so it will happen soon. Till then you guys read and enjoy the stories written by me. And yes don’t forget to share the story with your near and dear one if you liked it.
